Pechine is the family home of Richard and Sandra and their two children Joseph and Eva. Pechine is ideally situated in peaceful rolling hills with fantastic mountain views yet less than 10 minutes to a friendly, well-stocked supermarket plus there are other essential amenities. Beautiful historic Foix is 25 minutes, Toulouse less than one hour and the high mountains are an easy 40 minutes drive. Pechine is the perfect setting for an Ariege holiday at any time of the year.

Pechine is a renovated farmhouse situated in 1.5 hectares of land on a ridge in rolling countryside. The house faces south with outstanding views to the Pyrenees. Guests share the extensive garden that offers space and privacy. A 15’ splash pool and children’s play equipment is also available to share.

The ideal setting between the villages of Le Fossat and Artigat offers beauty and tranquillity yet is a mere 5 minutes drive to village shops and amenities. Within easy reach of both Toulouse and Carcassonne airports (each approximately a one hour drive) and on the direct road to Foix, and the High Pyrenees, many attractions are close to hand. The immediate area boasts beautiful artisan villages such as Carla Bayle and caves such as “La Grotte du Mas d’Azil”, plus many outdoor activities.

Further afield, yet easily accessible, are Mediterranean beaches (2 hours drive), Andorra (skiing and shopping!) and Barcelona is only a 3-hour drive. Walkers of all ages and standards are catered for in this vast, unspoilt area. Cyclists, on mountain and road, are also equally spoilt for choice (the Tour de France passes through our area each year).

The large 70 sq meter first floor apartment at Pechine is a new conversion, sympathetic to the traditional old farmhouse and built to a very high standard. There are two spacious bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with twin beds, a large living/kitchen/dining room with a comfortable sofa bed, and a full bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped with a cooker, fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. The living room has a television with UK 'Freeview' and a DVD player. Outside there are several seating areas including a terrace directly by the door to the apartment. There is a BBQ available for the use of guests. During the summer, a 15 foot above ground pool is ideal for children to play and even swim in and for adults to cool down! A new deck area, which we are particularly pleased with, offers shade and beautiful views to the mountains. There is also a full-size table tennis table, darts and other games/toys available. Your children can also share the 'Alpine' playhouse.

There is a small selection of DVDs and books available to borrow.

We also offer Wi-Fi connection and secure parking/storage for bicycles and motorbikes.

Child/baby equipment is available on request. The apartment is fitted with a stair gate, travel cot, smoke alarm and fire extinguisher.

A welcome basket, containing the essentials is provided for your arrival. Various optional extras are available on request, including babysitting, drop-off/pick-up for walks, breakfast delivery, arrival supper, picnic hampers, shopping in advance, pool/beach towels – please just ask!

The apartment is non-smoking. Sorry, no pets (not even ours!).

Prices are fully inclusive of linen, bathroom towels and electricity (except winter/long-term lets).

Outside High Season we are happy to accept shorter lets (2 nights min) and arrival days other than Sat.

Special prices available for weekend breaks.

Please contact us about possible long-term lets during the winter and also 'House Searching' trips - we have a very comfortable and well placed centre for investigating the Midi- Pyrenees and we are more than happy to pass on our recent experience and advice.
